Our Classroom Community

Overview

I strongly believe that the key to student success is a strong classroom community that encourages participation, experimentation, success and failure. Students must feel supported by their teacher and classmates to create and contribute their best work. As such, our classroom participates in a modified TRIBES program that prioritizes four ideals: active listening, respect, appreciation and the right to pass. We have spent time building a community of learners who support one another in their education. This program helps each student be a contentious member of our classroom and the school at large and aids in making Room 220 an excellent place to learn.
